Fish populations in the Black Sea have been increasingly impacted by ecological interference, often in the form of construction or regional development, and also climate change, which is changing water temperatures, currents and marine habitats. 

Uncertainty about the health and environmental risks caused by toxic dust and affected water supplies and reduced sales due to the mass population displacement affect many of the remaining farmers in the earthquake region.

With two weeks left until the Turkish elections, the opposition is doing its best to reach victims in the earthquake zone. This isn’t easy. President Erdoğan remains popular there, too.
